Must-Have Apps for the Well-Rounded Collegiate

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.

Mint

A few dollars for a peppermint mocha downtown, those Friday night sushi dates with friends, that scarf from Dwellings that you just had to have – money can fly out of our wallets before we even realize it! We might have four years to cash in on the luxury of dining and campus dollars by swiping our BUIDs at every possible opportunity, but the real world is going to be a wake-up call if we don’t learn to manage our money now. By connecting with your checking and saving accounts, Mint makes it easy to set budgets and saving goals, as well as to keep track of where you spend your money.

Sworkit

Do you ever hop off the treadmill or the elliptical at the gym and head straight to the mat to do some core exercises…but then just find yourself lying there, tired and wishing you could teleport back to your room? Sworkit allows you to design five minute to hour long strength, aerobic, yoga, and cardio workouts or to choose from specialized ones preprogrammed into the app. Bonus: you can sync your Sworkit workouts to the My Fitness Pal app and track all of your health pursuits in one place!

TED

TED, a nonprofit organization devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading” brings the worlds of technology, entertainment, and design together in the form of conferences, online webcasts, and other programs. Over 1500 topics are presented to audiences worldwide in less than eighteen minutes by experts in scientific fields, authors, life coaches and multiple other amazing speakers.

Viber

Feeling down about your besties are going abroad next semester? Never fear! Viber can keep you connected via texting, calling, video and photo messages from anywhere in the world…for free. Whether it’s sending her a picture of a trademark sunset over the quad to remind her why she loves Bucknell (and that she actually wants to come back to you!) or sneaking a look at a picture of her swimming with dolphins in Australia during class, you can stay a part of each other’s lives from afar without any trouble.

Daily Horoscope

Need I say anymore? Let’s face it – it’s either exactly on point, or totally off-kilter, but it’s worth the laugh it’ll give you during your study break.
