Mocktails and Cocktails

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bucknell chapter.

If you didn’t spend your spring break poolside or lounging on the beach and you find yourself needing a fun fruity lift, we’ve got you covered with some great spring mocktails just in time for House Party Weekend. The best part? You can find all of the ingredients at Walmart or Weis! If you are over 21, we’ve also got the alcoholic versions.*

Mimosa

  • One part orange juice
  • One part sparkling water
  • Over 21? Add champagne

Seabreeze

  • One part cranberry juice
  • Spalsh of grapefruit juice
  • One part sparkling water
  • Over 21? Add 2 shots of vodka

Collins (Lemonade)

  • One part crystal light lemonade
  • One part sparkling water
  • Over 21? Add 2 shots of vodka (or 2 shots of gin to make a Gin Sour)

Cape Codder

  • One part cranberry juice
  • One part sparkling apple juice
  • Over 21? Add 2 shots of vodka

Daiquiri

  • Crystal Light strawberry lemonade packets
  • One part water
  • One part club soda
  • Over 21? Add 2 shots of white rum

Our fun drink of choice this spring? Mojito– This one gets a little fancy!

  • Mash mint leaves with the back of a spoon and sugar. Place that mixture into the bottom of a glass.
  • Add one part lime juice and two parts soda water.
  • Over 21? Add 2 shots of white rum.

If these drink recipes start to intimidate you, you can always go with Crystal Light’s new mocktail packets in flavors like Margarita, Mojito, Appletini and more! All of these drinks can also be made healthier by using reduced sugar juices or light versions of the juice.

Sarah Dubow graduated from school in 2013 and is a Digital Strategist at Marina Maher Communications in New York City. After serving as Campus Correspondent at Bucknell University, she is so excited to continue being a part of the Her Campus team! Besides traversing the city and trying to figure out what being a "real person" really means, Sarah loves long walks on the beach, sipping pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain (kidding!). Real favorites include traveling, writing, kickboxing, and making up ridiculous lyrics to the latest songs. She absolutely loves anything that involves cupcakes, butterflies, glitter, and anything Parisian and specializes in baking with far too much chocolate and obsessively watching shows bound to be cancelled after the first season. Though the long term path for this post-grad collegiette remains unclear, she's looking forward to all the new 20-something adventures that await her!
