Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. With changing leaves, cool air, and tons of pumpkin-flavored foods, fall at Bucknell never fails to feel cozy. And to compliment my constant craving for pumpkin spice and apple cider, I put together the perfect fall playlist. Here are some highlights of my favorite songs that give me a fall fix.

Sweater Weather – The Neighborhood

This is my ultimate go-to song for when I want to curl up with a book or sit by a fire. And as if the title of the song was not enough, the lyrics perfectly encapsulate what it feels to be in “sweater weather”.

Purple Yellow Red and Blue – Portugal. The Man

Being from Texas, I never was able to experience the changing autumn leaves until I came to Bucknell, and now they are one of my favorite things about being here. This song reminds me of all of the colors of fall and car rides through Lewisburg looking at the leaves with my friends.

Cardigan – Taylor Swift

From her latest album, Folklore, Taylor Swift has an incredible ability to make her music feel like home. This song gives off an incredibly romantic, log-cabin feel. I love listening to this song when I’m cooking and studying, as it is incredibly peaceful.

O Children – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

From the moment I heard this song in the movie theater watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, I knew this song had the incredible ability to make me feel warm and fuzzy. Something about Harry and Hermione dancing to it in pure happiness despite all of the craziness going on in their lives resonates during midterm season, and I can always count on this song to make me feel better in times of stress.

Perfect Places – Lorde

Much like Taylor Swift, Lorde is an incredible lyricist with the ability to make her songs feel personal. When I hear this song I think of Bucknell in the fall, my perfect place. I think of my friends who have grown into family, and the memories made here on car rides, dinner, late night library sessions, and movie nights.
