I have received the opportunity this semester to assist the Boston University PRLab account team with its public relations campaign for Beantown Bedding, a company selling laundry-free linens.
Beantown Bedding was founded in 2009 by Joan Ripple and Kirsten Lambert. When Ripple and Lambert’s children went off to college, they realized that they often didn’t have the time to wash their sheets–a problem shared by many college students.
As a result, their children faced frequent illness. So, Ripple and Lambert began their year-long process to create laundry-free linens. Beantown Bedding’s linens are biodegradable, compostable, and made from award-winning botanic fibers. What’s better than a product that is disposable, “green”, and extremely convenient?
The linens are ideal for athletes, environmentalists, and study abroad candidates, but if you tend to be busy in general, then these products are a must-have.
Beantown Bedding’s products include pillowcases, sheets for queen, full, twin, twin xl beds and cots, and washcloths. Prices range from $11.99 to $34.99.
Whoopee Goldberg, in particular, is a Beantown Bedding enthusiast. She featured the company on The View this past August, saying that the products are her “absolute favorite.”
You can find Beantown Bedding Laundry-free Linens at Barnes and Noble on Boston University’s campus.
