Why Marathon Monday Is The Best Day of the Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

The day we have all been waiting for is finally here… “Marathon Monday” aka Christmas in spring. Now, let’s take a moment to remember why we have this glorious holiday. On April 19, 1775, the first battles of the Revolutionary War took place and then came #freedom. So basically it’s Boston’s own V.I.P holiday and we all have an obligation to celebrate accordingly. Every year, hundreds of people gather into the city to support the brave souls who run the 26.2 mile race. For college students, this means rallying together on random rooftop apartments, celebrating the city we love on a MONDAY.

Marathon Monday is without question the best day of the year and here’s why:

1. We have waited all winter for this

2. It’s finally nice outside

3. And we get the day off

4. No like we literally get the day off to party

5. So mimosas are an acceptable breakfast

6. You have an epic snap story and make all your friends at other schools jealous

7. There is no city with a greater sense of pride8. And it reminds you of why you first came to school in Boston

HAPPY MARATHON MONDAY COLLEGIETTES!
