Why Being Single on Valentine’s Day is Actually Better

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

It’s that time of year again where couples shove how in love and cute they are down our throats, even if they’re actually not. Well it’s okay that your single (again) this year, because being single actually rocks! This Valentine’s Day embrace your singleness!

When February 14th comes along just remember this:

You don’t have to spend the whole day getting ready. You can literally wake up and stay that way. Enjoy the sweatpants!

You get to hang out with your other single girlfriends and have a totally fun Galentine’s Day.

You can get as drunk as you want and no one else will judge because you’ll mostly be surrounded by other single people.

You don’t have to endure the awkwardness in an early stage of a relationship.

You won’t be that couple that everyone hates.

More chocolate, ice cream, food for you!!

It’s a great reminder that the best person to love the most is yourself. You don’t need someone else to tell you you’re awesome!

You don’t have to go through that process of having high expectations from your S.O and being let down. Treat yo self gurl!

You know that you’re not wasting your time with the wrong guy.

You get to wear your most sexy and slutty outfit without having a S.O telling you you’re too revealing.

And you know that Queen B. wrote this song for you.
