What to Wear: Marathon Monday 2012

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

It’s finally that time of year again: Marathon Monday! Boston’s annual 26.22-mile marathon that runs from Hopkinton, MA all the way to Copley Square kicks off in just a few days, which also means one of the most fun days for BU students is arriving! For most, Marathon Monday will include waking up early, hanging out with friends, and going to cheer on the runners! While you may not be running, it’s still important to dress for the occasion, and you can do it without having to wear your gym clothes!

Marathon Monday dressing is all about keeping it comfortable, but still cute. Start with a basic shoe—Converse or Nikes that you will be comfortable walking around in and standing in as you watch the runners. For a top, many make shirts or tank tops with their friends, but another great option is to represent Boston and BU! If it’s warm out, break out the denim shorts. Since you will probably be out early, don’t leave the house without a comfy zip up sweatshirt to stay warm. Finally, have some fun with your accessories, and add some spring colored wayfarer sunglasses, and a small cross body bag to carry only your necessities! With all these, you will be set to cheer on the Boston Marathon Runners and have a great Marathon Monday!
