What Out-of-Towners Think During a Snowstorm in Boston

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

When you moved to Boston, you were so excited. You couldn’t have been happier with your decision to move to a place with so many weather changes. You knew that you would adore Boston spring because it’s so beautiful. You knew Boston Common would be gorgeous and you could have a picnic or two. You were so excited for Boston summers when you could bike ride around campus and visit the beach. You were the most pumped for fall-pumpkin everything, seeing the seasons change, riding boots, and cute vests. You even thought you would love Boston winters. You thought about the Instagrams of you playing in the snow. You thought about the possible snow days and the cutest dates you could have with hot chocolate and Netflix while the snow fell outside your window.

But never, ever did you think that you would have to prepare for the everlasting snowfall that is currently plaguing the Boston area. So here it is! This is what we out-of-towners think about the recent snow in Boston.

The first time it snows all season you look out your window and…

They announce the first snow day and you couldn’t be happier…

You plan to go outside and have snowball fights all day long…

You’re so excited for all the snowbunny selfies you can take with your friends…

You love getting all bundled up to go outside…

You’re obsessed with the snow from inside the comfort of your room…

Then you have to go back to school and walk in the snow…

You walk into your classes like…

You ask yourself why you chose this city…

“I could have gone to Floria! I could have chose a college in California!”

You get another snow day and you’re excited all over again…

You set all these expectations for yourself about stuff you’ll accomplish throughout the day, but you always just end up sitting in your room like…

Everyone starts getting sick around you…

And you walk around like…

You stop thinking that the snow is cute…

Your teachers want the snow days to stop so they come to class like…

You see people outside in shorts, or people running in the snow like…

And you just look at them like…

It’s like five snow days in and you’re so over it…

They announce another foot of snow and you’re like…

Everyone from home is calling to ask if you’re liking all the snow…

They announce more snow days and you don’t even want it anymore…

But in the end you still love Boston and you know you wouldn’t wanna be anywhere else (except if we get more snow)…

Enjoy the snow!
