Ultimate Summer Packing Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Now that summer is approaching, life will be revolving around work, friends, and hopefully vacation! I know I always end up packing the night before and just throwing a bunch of random things into my suitcase. So if you are that type of girl, then check out this ultimate summer packing guide.

Clothing

Make sure you check the weather for your travel destination. It is never a good feeling to be in a hot and humid destination and you didn’t pack any lightweight items.

Rolling your clothes instead of folding them allows you to fit more into your suitcase. Just make sure when you get to your hotel that you hang things up so that they don’t get too wrinkled.

I know it’s really hard, but if you plan out certain outfits for every day you will find that you don’t over pack and have a less stressful time trying to figure out what you want to where when you are on vacation.

Toiletries

Don’t forget any important pills or medication that you need to take.

When packing oil-based items and things like shampoo, place them into plastic bags just incase they burst on your flight; that way none of your other clothes and products will get ruined.

When it comes to make-up I like to wear less when I’m on vacation, especially when in hot and humid destinations. Try to keep the make-up down to the basics and this will help create more space in your suitcase.

This bag from Victoria’s Secret is the perfect size and great for keeping your products organized!

Commonly Forgot Items

Here are a few things that people often forget, so make sure you remember them!

Chargers! Don’t forget your phone and laptop chargers, and make sure you label them if you are traveling with a large group.

Toothpaste

Sunscreen

Razor

Sunglasses

Reusable water bottle. Most people don’t remember to bring these along but they can really come in handy especially in places where clean water is limited.
