Things to Look Forward to This Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

With this semester’s so far never ending snow and freezing temperatures, it can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But don’t worry collegiettes, there is hope. This is exactly what makes the spring semester so great. Eventually the weather clears up and everyone comes out of hiding, ready to embrace everything that Boston has to offer. So struggle these last snowy days and get ready to make this the best semester yet!

1. Better weather

Soon enough there will come a day where you will be able to walk down Comm Ave. without ten layers, a puffy jacket down to your knees, and tears streaming down your face from the wind.

2. The Bean Pot

Get some friends together and head over to the Garden to support the hockey team and show your BU pride!

3. Spring Break

Even if your spring break isn’t going to look like this, everyone still deserves this much needed vacation.

4. St. Patrick’s Day

Everyone knows that no one does St. Patty’s Day like Southie does St. Patty’s Day.

5. Red Sox Opening Day

One of the coolest parts of going to BU is that Fenway is literally our backyard. So take advantage of this opportunity, the student-priced tickets won’t last forever!

6. The Boston Marathon

“Marathon Monday” aka the greatest day of the year for college students in Boston.

7. Summer

There is nothing like the feeling of passing in your last final and knowing that three months of freedom and fun (or slaving away at an unpaid 9-5 internship) awaits you.

Brianne is a junior at BU where she is majoring in Public Relations and minoring in going out Monday-Sunday. She refers to Vogue as her bible, is addicted to instagram and the Real Housewives, and considers mimosas to be a food group.
Summer is a Boston University graduate ('15) that received a BS in Journalism with a concentration in magazine journalism. Her interests include editorial design and lifestyle, fashion, and beauty content, as she aspires to be a fashion magazine writer and editor. She is currently a fashion and beauty writer for Bustle.com and previously served as a Campus Correspondent for Her Campus Boston University. Summer likes to think of herself as a lipstick enthusiast and smoothie connoisseur, so when she isn't writing for Bustle, you could probably find her sipping on a strawberry-banana smoothie and planning her next purchases at Sephora.
