This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Chic athletic wear is on the rise, showcasing a unique crossover between gym attire and everyday street style. Trendy sneakers and luxurious spandex designs have brought a whole new aestheticism to what has traditionally been deemed “work-out clothing.”  And with major collaborations both established and currently in the works, consumers will eagerly be jumping into these designs. So whether you are hitting the courts for a game of tennis or out for a jog, any one of these looks will have you exercising in style.

1. NikeLab x Pedro Lourenço

On trend with avant-garde collaborations, Nike launched a line late last year with Brazilian designer Pedro Lourenço. The collection combines the latest performance technologies with stylish construction to create a line that is both functional and trendy. Modeled by former ballerina and current Victoria’s Secret model Karlie Kloss, these seamless designs exude femininity and extreme athleticism. If you’re looking to treat yourself this season, these luxury looks will do the trick.

2. NikeLab x JFS

Nike also recently launched a new capsule collection with Berlin-based Acronym designer Johanna F. Schneider. Officially available in stores on February 26th, the collection features a variety of styles inspired by the human body and its composition. The outfits can be layered in multiple ways providing for the different stages of a workout, accounting for transition periods within exercise. Emphasizing unique patterns, interesting cutouts, and designs targeted for ultimate mobility, each look proves both sophisticated and expertly tailored to the woman’s physique.

3. Adidas and Junichi Abe

Following in Nike’s footsteps, Adidas has announced its own new capsule project with Japanese designer Junichi Abe. Abe, who currently designs for a menswear label named Kolor, has teamed up with Adidas to create an innovative, futuristic performance line. Utilizing Adidas’ Climaheat, Climachill and Boost technologies, the line includes two styles of shoes designed to maximize workout efficiency and intensity. The collection also boasts 21 original apparel pieces composed of asymmetrical closers and mirror ripstop fabric. The line is expected to hit stores in September and retail for $110 to $636 at current exchange.

4. Adidas by Stella McCartney

No novice to the collaboration process, Adidas has an existing line crafted by prominent British designer Stella McCartney. Originally launched in 2004, this collection has become a full-fledged brand over 10 years later. Dubbed StellaSport, the collection compiles funky patterns, bright colors, and mesh fabrics in select styles. The line features all your athletic wear basics and even a few exciting additions (including sports sacks and training bags). Price range: $35 – $100

5. H&M activewear

Alongside other major retailers like Gap and Forever 21, H&M has capitalized on the lucrative sportswear trade with its own line of athletic wear. These affordable pieces focus on sleek lines and simple, versatile styles that can easily be mixed and matched. A recent collaboration with Alexander Wang has also upped the ante of H&M’s stylish athletic gear repertoire. Price range: $4.95 – $59.95.
