Spring Break is finally here! And you’re going to need more than just cute shades, polishes, tops, and bathing suits to set off your vacation look. It’s time to treat your hair as an accessory…. an accessory that’s going to complete and compliment your look. So break out the bobby pins, headbands, hair elastics, hairsprays, and conditioners because you’re going to need it all this Spring Break. Here are 7 quick and easy hairstyles to try for each day of your vacation.

Day 1: Side Braid

The side braid is such a simple and easy hairstyle that will be perfect for your vacation. Try it with a French braid, a herringbone, or a fish tail…. whichever braiding style you prefer. You could try a clean, polished side braid for a well put together look like Queen Bey herself, a messy, casual side braid similar to Zendaya Coleman, or a sassy and high profile look with a teased and voluminous side braid like Ashley Tisdale. The side braid is flexible and also makes for a perfect beach-do.

Day 2: Understated Ponytail

Teen Vogue refers to Shay Mitchell’s above style as an “understated ponytail”. With a little teasing at the crown to add volume, you can achieve this simple do, perfect for say, a dinner date or an evening out on the town. Bobby pins will secure your shorter front hairs and a little hair spray or dry shampoo can add as much height at the crown as you’d like. Look at this style as being a classier take on what would be a simple and all too common ponytail.

Day 3: Half-Up Mini Bun

Holland Roden’s addition of a mini bun also adds a twist to a second common style: the classic half up/half down hairdo. This is yet another look that requires little time and effort. Smaller hair ties hold the bun in place better than larger bands. Give this boho-do a try during break. I can already picture it now with a great pair of cutoffs and ultra-chic shades.

Day 4: Waterfull Braids

Waterfall braids are cited as much easier to do than they seem. They say that if you can fishtail…. you can certainly waterfall (maybe practice a bit beforehand so that you’re a pro by the time the break hits). Waterfall braids add a great visual effect to your hair that is far more interesting than simply wearing your hair down. Even try putting your hair in a bun or another updo once you’ve completed the waterfalling.

Day 5: Twisted Ponytail

The twisted ponytail is yet another easy vacation-do that puts a spin on the all too easy ponytail. As shown above, this look can be as polished or as messy and casual as you’d like. Either way, rocking a twisted pony will surely add a bit of edge to your overall look. Try adding flowers, nature inspired headbands, and other decorative hair accessories for a bohemian twist.

Day 6: Voluminous High Ponytail

It’s sassy. It’s modern. It’s chic. A voluminous high ponytail is yet another option for turning the heat up on the classic, plain Jane pony. A little volume and teasing obviously goes a long way. If it’s carpet ready for Nina Dobrev, then it’s good enough for a night out during Spring Break. Though it’s not necessary, the added middle part to allow for pieces left out in the front takes this effortlessly elegant, yet sexy hairdo even further.

Day 7: Messy Bun

What better hairdo to end the break than with the messy bun. It will be the perfect hairstyle when you’re up and at ’em and on the go, preparing for your ride or flight back to Boston. The messy bun is just as flexible as the side braid. Try it high and tightly secured like Vanessa Hudgens. Add a bandana or a lovely bow as Rihanna did, achieving an adorably classic 50’s look. Or pair the bun with a couple of simple headbands or hair accessories to add dimension. The messier the better, so no worries if it isn’t perfect.
