Stages of Reuniting With Your Best Friends, As Told By New Girl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Maybe you haven’t seen your best friend for a year, or a few years, or maybe just the weekend. No matter the length of time, the reaction is the same when we do finally see them. Don’t deny it!

We get really sad that they’re gone. We even get a little depressed because the separation anxiety is too real.

Then you realize you’re going to see them soon.

You start freaking out a little bit because they’re literally outside you door or VERY close to where you are.

AND IT’S ALL BEEN LEADING UP TO THIS BECAUSE YOU FINALLY SEE EACH OTHER

Then you guys catch up on each other’s lives; Talk about other girls, mostly about the girls you hate

Then about the guys you like

Then you just laugh about inside jokes and stuff

You realize how much you both love each other

And that you swear to never leave each other ever again.

But then one of you has to go.

So you get really sad again

But you both realize you’ll see each other really soon

So you say your goodbyes

And then we’re right back to where we started.
