Many people are confident that they have amazing music taste. But do they really? Music is a form of art and communication that we all can rely on to feel comfort, productivity, and many other things. To me, it’s also important to point out that having diverse music tastes is key. Yes, there is no right or wrong when it comes to music, but music is endless. We should all be able to expand our music library for exposure to the indefinite beauty of music.

The following list contains some recommendations that you should consider adding to your library. These are perfect for study sessions, taking a walk, or even just zoning out. Just to note, these songs are very melodic and soothing. If that is not to your liking, then I understand the “wrong” of these music choices. But, please consider these songs at other times of comfort in your day, which could provide a soundtrack for self-care and relaxation!

“cinnamon girl” by lana del rey

Lana Del Rey has been quite a bit controversial with her music, but to me, this album was a big turning point in her music career. “Cinnamon Girl” and many other songs on this album are melodic and chill. Taking a walk while listening to this song, especially in the fall, gives such comforting vibes. Her high-pitch vocals in the chorus make this song an absolute 10/10. The sweet sound of this song is exactly how I imagine the fall season to feel.

“Myself” by Nav

This particular song has made me listen to this artist way more. I felt a deep connection to this song when it came out in middle school. Yet, every time I listen to it, I feel like I’m listening to it for the first time. The lyrics are especially relatable when he says, “I’ma break every box they try to put me in.” To top it off, it is easily one of the most chill hip-hop/rap songs out there.

“Pull up” by abra

This artist put a twist on R&B with a lo-fi melody. This song will put you in the mood to dance and sing every lyric word for word — bobbing your head works too, but dancing is where it’s at. This song is on constant repeat for sure. The melodic twist she puts on R&B works so well. Abra’s whole album Rose is a must for those who haven’t listened.

“Still dreaming” by raveena

I recently found this artist, but I wish I knew her sooner. Raveena, a queer Indian artist, really put her heart into this song. Her vocals are out of this world to the point where it makes you want to sing along and pour your heart out. If you’re having a bad day, please listen to this song. It is definitely a mood booster.

“Otro atardecer” by bad bunny & the marias

Bad Bunny has become a favorite for many people. His new album Un Verano Sin Ti has been THE album of the summer. Yet, there are some songs that bring a more majestic and chill, summer vibe than others on this album. This song definitely puts a mark on what good vibes should feel like. Bad Bunny and The Marias have completely different genres of music, yet they blend seamlessly in this song. All in all, a perfect song to jam out to in your room or anywhere, really.

I hope these songs bring all, and only, good vibes your way. These songs bring me comfort, and I hope they do the same for you! Enjoy!
