My Favorite Fast Food Restaurants

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Boston isn’t oversaturated with fast food joints, but since I’m going home for spring break, I’m sure I’ll find myself over-indulging at plenty of these fast food restaurants.

1. Chick-Fil-A

My absolute favorite on this list; if you haven’t tried Chick-Fil-A yet, you should definitely go out of your way to do so. My go-to order here is a Chick-Fil-A Deluxe Sandwich with waffle fries, Chick-Fil-A sauce, and a lemonade. Their ice cream cones are very tasty as well. Besides their food, the employees are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you happy. This isn’t your typical fast food joint. The only downside is that they are closed on Sundays but besides that, everything about this Chick-Fil-A is absolutely phenomenal. 10/10.

2. Raising Cane’s

While not as good as Chick-Fil-A, Raising Cane’s is also a great fast food restaurant for chicken. The chicken here is delicious, but what really sets them apart is their Cane’s sauce. My go-to order here is their sandwich combo, which comes with a chicken sandwich with Cane’s sauce, crinkle cut fries, and a drink. 8/10.

3. McDonald’s

Okay, this one isn’t really a “favorite” but it is the most “fast-food- y” it could get. I feel absolutely terrible after eating McDonald’s, but I sometimes indulge in it, most often late at night through Uber Eats during one of my late night cravings. My go to order here is their infamous Big Mac combo with fries and a Sprite—something about McDonald’s and Sprite just go together, not sure why. 5/10.

4. Subway

For someone who loves sandwiches as much as I do, Subway is the best it’ll get when it comes to fast food. Subway is also the healthiest fast food restaurant on this list, so that’s a plus. My go to order here is tuna on 6-inch wheat bread with spinach, lettuce, tomato, onions, cucumbers, and ranch. 8/10.

5. Little Caesar’s

This is probably the quickest pizza place since Little Caesar’s has their pizzas are already made by the time you walk in. My go-to order here is the Hot and Ready Pepperoni with Cheese or the Deep Deep Dish. 8/10.

6. Whataburger

As a Texan, Whataburger will always hold a special place in my heart (and stomach?). Whataburger mainly has locations in Texas but does have some locations in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Whataburger is to Texas what In-N-Out is to California, to put that in perspective. My go-to Whataburger order is either a Honey BBQ chicken strip sandwich or a Bacon Avocado Burger. Anything on the menu is delicious, so you can’t really go wrong with anything. If you haven’t already tried Whataburger, what are you waiting for? 10/10.

So these are my favorite fast food restaurants that I indulge in at home. I know that these aren’t “healthy” but they sure are delicious and great in moderation. If you haven’t tried out these places, make sure to do so whenever you get the chance, you won’t regret it!
