If you haven’t seen The Mistle-Tones (2012) before, you’re missing out on some serious holiday spirit! This comedy, starring Tia Mowry and Tori Spelling, is the perfect addition to your Christmas movie list.Â
The general premise of the story can be wrapped into the genre of musical comedy. A popular Christmas choir, the Snow Belles, led by “queen bee” Marci (Tori Spelling), has recently lost a member and must hold auditions to replace that spot for the holiday session. Holly (Tia Mowry) is a talented singer and her mother founded the Belles many years ago. So when Holly auditions and doesn’t get the spot, she is upset to find out that it went to one of Marci’s less-talented friends. Holly decides to start her own group: The Mistle-Tones, which are full of zany characters and a whole lot of talent. They challenge Marci and The Bells to a bit of a friendly musical competition. Who will steal the spotlight?
While this film may be made for TV, it’s no Lifetime movie. Enjoy some light-hearted, cheesy fun this year and check out The Mistle-Tones, which is available on Disney+. So if you’re a major fan of nostalgia and already have a subscription, like me, you’re all set! Otherwise, you can stream the movie on the ABC Freeform website.Â
I hope I’ve convinced you to settle down with a mug of hot cocoa, some sugar cookies, and The Mistle-Tones.
