Lipsticks for Every Collegiate

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

All collegiates, at one point or another, have struggled when finding the perfect lip colors. Whether it be the right red, the perfect plum or even the nude lip, it’s difficult to find that one shade that suits you. Well today we have collected some colors that will work for everyone, in a variety of colors!

Fall Plum:

The plum lip has become an essential fall staple in recent years and MAC’s “Rebel” perfects the color for all women. It fits right in between true plum, and red, which makes the color versatile for day or night! We like to match it with MAC’s “Vino” lip liner for the extra definition and longevity.

Glamorous Red:

It seems that every collegiate should own a red lipstick. Sometimes we see a red lip on a friend or celebrity that amazes us, but the color doesn’t seem to suit us. Fortunately, Milani has created “Best Red” to compliment any and all skin complexions.

Subtle Nude:

Nude lips have always been overlooked, but when wearing a smokey eye, nude lips are always the best option. The key to perfecting a nude lip is liner and gloss. Neutrogena’s “Just Whisper” is a great nude for everyone, and it is extremely moisturizing. I like to pair the color with MAC’s “Spice” lip liner, and then finish the look off with my favorite gloss (Mary Kay’s “Teddy Bare”).

True Purple:

This trend is different from the plum color above because it is truly purple, and fun! This fall trend can range anywhere from a lighter purple lip, to something darker. My favorite is the color that fits right in the middle of the spectrum, making it wearable for all collegiates! My favorite is Revlon’s Matte Balm, “Shameless.” This color is fun and flirty, and it works for both daytime and nighttime looks. This balm is also buildable, allowing for more pigment if you wish!
