Autumn has finally arrived, and we can now congratulate ourselves for successfully getting through that awkward and dreadful transition period between summer and fall.  Now that the brisk temperatures have hit the streets of Boston, it is time to embrace them in style. What better way to do this than with the one material that basically screams fall, leather?!  I know what you’re thinking, you don’t know how to wear leather, or you don’t think you can pull it off. Well, I’m here to tell you that you most definitely can, and here’s 5 easy ways to do it:

1.  Leather Jacket

Having a chic leather jacket in your wardrobe is a definite staple.  Both trendy and practical, this piece is perfect for any occasion.  To get an everyday look, throw it over a T-shirt or sweater with an infinity scarf and your favorite riding boots.  You can even go formal by putting it over a button down with a tailored pant and flats.  If you want to dress it up, wear it over a cute skater dress and pair it with a bootie. Whether it be brunch, the office, or a night out, the leather jacket is simply universal.

2.  Leather Pants

Before you freak out and start convincing yourself that there’s absolutely no way you could pull off a pair of leather pants, think again.  With so many different styles, from a leather skinny jean to a leather legging or an even more relaxed leather jogging pant (Kanye West rocks these on the reg), there is a style and fit for everyone.  The best part about leather pants is their versatility.  Throw on a pair of pumps to dress them up or for a more casual look, just add a sweater and cool high top sneakers. You will takee street style to a whole new level.  If wearing full-on leather pants still seems intimidating, try looking for pants or leggings with leather detailing like patchwork or leather seams. This way you can still get the leather look in a more conservative way!

3.  Leather Boots

What is fall without a super cute pair of leather boots?!  Whether you prefer a tall riding boot or a short motorcycle style, boots are a definite fall must have.  Not only are they reliable to get you through the cool fall weather, but they are also the perfect staple to pull together an outfit.  No matter the look, you can always count on your leather boots to complete it!

4.  Leather Top

One of the newest ways to incorporate leather into your wardrobe is through tops.  A fabric originally known for its tougher edge, leather is now being crafter in to beautiful, feminine silhouettes that are perfect for a night out or lunch with the girls.  Just like with leather pants, wearing a full leather shirt may seem like a little much, so lucky for us, designers are using the material more and more for detailing.  Found on the elbows of sweaters or the sleeves of a plain T-shirt, leather brings some texture to a look without overpowering it.

5.  Leather Skirt

When people think about a leather skirt, they likely associate it with a more formal outfit.  One of the newest trends however is pairing these more “formal” pieces with those classified as casual.  Here’s one way to do it: take your leather skirt and pair it with a cute sweater and over the knee riding boots.  Putting a leather skirt with something as simple as an oversized sweater can totally transform a look from being strictly for night time to acceptable day-wear.  Wearing this skirt in a more casual way will let you get more use out of it and give you a simple yet trendy outfit for your everyday activities.
