Last-Minute Recipes for Your Holiday Party

We’ve all been there: you’re trying to be the hostess with the mostess at your holiday get-together, and while the e-vites have been sent, the halls have been decked, and the the perfect festive outfit has already been picked out, you realize you only have a few hours to make some seasonal treats for your guests.  Don’t panic, collegiettes! There are plenty of last-minute, festive goodies that are sure to impress! 

Mozzarella, Tomato, and Basil Skewers   

A twist on the classic caprese salad, these simple skewers are sure to please all of your guests!  Not only will everyone love the combo of mozzarella, tomato, and basil, but the festive green and red colors make these appetizers perfect for your holiday party! 

What You Need:  

  • Mozzarella  

  • Cherry Tomatos  

  • Basil Leaves 

  • Balsamic Vinaigrette   

  • Skewers 

 How To Make Them:  

  1. Layer the mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and basil leaves onto the skewer, alternating each ingredient.  

  1. Lay out your finished skewers on a platter and drizzle them with the balsamic vinaigrette.  

  1. Serve and enjoy! 

Peppermint Pretzel Bites 

These bite-sized snacks are perfect for everyone who loves salty and sweet treats!  These chocolate-peppermint pretzel bites look adorable, but are so easy to make, leaving you plenty of time to mingle with your guests.  

What You Need: 

  • Mini pretzels 

  • Chocolate peppermint Kisses 

  • Red and green M&Ms  

  • Parchment paper 

How to Make Them:  

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. 

  1. Lay the mini pretzels out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, to prevent the chocolate from sticking. 

  1. Put one chocolate peppermint candy on each pretzel. 

  1. Put the baking sheet in the the oven for about 5 minutes, until the chocolate is soft, but not entirely melted.  

  1. Take the baking sheet out of the oven, and gently place an M&M onto each pretzel.  

  1. Place into the fridge to cool. 

  1. Your pretzel bites are ready to serve! 

Reindeer Sugar Cookies  

Your guests are sure to be impressed by what looks like a complicated, baking-all-night, cookie recipe.  But, the secret is, these festive reindeer cookies are as easy as they are fun to make, and only require a few ingredients.  Everyone at your holiday party will definitely be Instagramming these holiday treats!  

What You Need:  

  • Ready to bake sugar cookies 

  • Mini chocolate covered pretzels 

  • Mini Chocolate Chips  

  • Red M&Ms 

How to Make Them:  

  1. Follow the instructions on the package for baking the sugar cookies.  

  1. While the sugar cookies are still warm, place two of the the mini chocolate covered pretzels on one side of the cookie to be the antlers of the reindeer.  Place two mini chocolate chips below the pretzels to be the eyes, and place a red M&M below the chocolate chips to be the nose.   

Let the cookies cool and then place on a platter and serve!

With these recipes, your holiday party is guaranteed to be the talk of the season!  You don’t even need to spend all day in the kitchen to make these delicious holiday treats!
