Last Minute Holiday Gifts That Aren’t Gift Cards

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Every year the holidays roll around and every year you somehow forget one crucial gift until the last possible minute. Whether it be for your boyfriend, girlfriend, roommate, or mom, Her Campus is to the rescue with gifts for everyone.

For Him

Guys are simultaneously easy and hard to shop for. On one hand, he’ll be happy with almost anything, on the other hand, stores seem to think the only things boys like are boxers, shaving and beer.

1) Phone Case

This one has a few slots for cards for added convenience.

2) Books

If your guy is more of the reader type look into some of the best sellers this season, like The Martian or All the Light We Cannot See would be a great fit. This a great gift for any guy in your life, romantic or not.

3) A Watch

Watches are a staple for everyone’s wardrobe, and a great gift to get any guy. Watches come in a wide price range, making it a good gift no matter how serious the relationship is.

For Her

Girls are often considered difficult to shop for, and there are so many options it can seem overwhelming, especially if you’re buying for someone with varied interests.

1) Nail Polish

Nail polish is the perfect gift for a roommate, secret Santa, or sorority sister. It is chic, inexpensive and fairly universally liked. If you need a gift for someone whose interests you don’t know too well, nail polish may be the perfect go-to.

2) Lush Bath Bomb

This is a perfect gift for anyone, but especially for your mom. They’re relatively cheap so buy a few or pair with a gift certificate for a facial, mani/pedi, or massage.

3) Keychain

It seems like something odd, but with dorm keys costing major money to replace, keychains are a necessity. Have it be the year you two started dating for a cute addition.

Hopefully this list will save you from any last minute holiday stress and if all else fails, you can opt for taking someone out to dinner or baking them something nice.
