This Halloween will be different. No trick-or-treating, no going out to huge parties, no sharing candy with friends. We have to remember to stay safe this Halloween — and that means doing Halloween from home. Whether it’s just you or a group of friends (keep it under 10 people indoors, of course), you can still have a wonderfully spooky time this Halloween with these fun activities!

Dress Up

Just because we can’t go out partying on Halloween, doesn’t mean we can’t still dress up. If you’re having a few people over, tell them to come in their best costumes so that you can still take fun and spooky pictures. You can even set up a fun photoshoot in your apartment or house so that you can create memories you’ll never forget. Or you can try the ghost photoshoot trend — throw on a white sheet, put on some sunglasses, and find a place outside to take some eerie pics. Dressing up or doing a fun photoshoot will make Halloween feel just like normal.

Carve Pumpkins

Carving or painting pumpkins is the perfect activity to do from home on Halloween. Most grocery stores or hardware stores sell pumpkins you can use, ranging from tiny sizes to large sizes. Or if you don’t want to go through the mess of carving a real pumpkin, you can always buy a fake pumpkin and carve/paint that, too. This is the perfect activity if you want to do something creative and artsy but also feel the Halloween spirit. And when you’re done, you can find a cute place outside your house or apartment building to put the pumpkin for everyone to see!

Bake Cookies

When is it not the perfect time to bake cookies? Whether you make delicious Halloween cookies from scratch or just buy some premade ones and stick them in the oven, baking cookies are sure to get you in a happy, spooky mood. And if you have friends over, they will absolutely love you for it. So, go buy some ingredients at the grocery store or buy those scrumptious premade Pillsbury cookies for everyone to enjoy!

Watch a Scary Movie

It’s very important to be in the Halloween mood on October 31st, and what better way to get in the scary spirits than watching a horror movie? Whether you watch a Disney classic like Hocus Pocus or an iconic thriller like Friday the 13th, watching a scary movie is the perfect activity for staying at home. You can cozy up inside and watch a movie on the TV, or you can throw on a warm sweater and blanket and play a movie on a projector outside. And if you’re not the biggest fan of horror movies, there are so many comedy horror movies that will not only give you a fright, but will also make you laugh ‘til you cry. C’mon, who doesn’t love a good jump scare?

Eat Candy

This is just an absolute must. What’s Halloween without candy? Halloween is the one night of the year when you can literally stuff your face with as much candy as you want and no one will judge you. I suggest getting some of your friends together to do one of the activities on this list, and then eat as much candy as you possibly can. Whether you’re a Kit Kat gal or a Reese’s fan, you really can’t go wrong with Halloween candy. So, have fun and eat as much as you want! No judgment.

I will personally be doing all of the activities on this list on Halloween, and I hope you do too! Have fun and be safe!
