This is the last “Grace’s New Music Roundup” for this semester. Like always, I have listened to Spotify’s “New Music Friday” playlist and have listed my favorite ones below. This week is largely songs from Miley Cyrus’ new album Plastic Hearts.

“Angels Like You” by Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus just released a brand new album titled Plastic Hearts. Finally, Miley has created a rock/pop album that showcases her incredible vocals. This is one of my favorite tracks off of the album, and it’s one of the more emotional songs on the album. It details a relationship that she feels she is not good enough to be a part of, and it was written by Miley Cyrus, Louis Bell, Ali Tamposi, watt, and Ryan Tedder.

“Caroline” by Arlo Parks

This is an artist that I had never heard of before, and this track is more mellow and vibey than the others on this week’s list. It has a very chill, slow sound to it which makes it perfect. This song was written by Arlo Parks and Gianluca Buccellati.

“Plastic Hearts” by Miley Cyrus

This is another one of my favorite tracks off Miley’s new album. This title track has a definite rock vibe. The lyrics of this song are also quite revealing and emotional. The song itself reveals the truth of California’s toxic culture. This track was written by Miley Cyrus, Louis Bell, watt, Ali Tamposi, and Ryan Tedder.

“wishlist” by Alaina Castillo

Since it is the Christmas season, I thought it was only fitting for me to include a new Christmas song on this week’s list! This Christmas track is a bit more risque than the traditional Christmas songs that most of us grew up listening to, and it was written by Alaina Castillo and RØMANS.

“Hate Me” by Miley Cyrus

This track is by far my favorite from her new album. Arguably, this song is the most revealing song; its blunt lyrics detail how she feels about the constant public scrutiny and her views on death. This song was written by Miley Cyrus, Caitlyn Smith, and Jennifer Decilveo.

“Never Be Me” by Miley Cyrus

This is one of the slower songs on Miley’s new album. It discusses her issues with commitment in romantic relationships; like many of the other songs on the album, this song shows a raw, emotional side of Miley. This track was written by Miley Cyrus, Ilsey, and Mark Ronson.

“Doin’ It Again” by Eyelar

I am ending this week’s list with another song by an artist that I had never heard of before. This song has a chiller vibe than many of the intense Miley songs on this list. This track was written by Eyelar and Fred again.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s list! As always, check out the “new music friday” playlist on my Spotify “glechy.”
