Fashion At The Grammys: My Favorite Red Carpet Looks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

The Grammy Awards is a night of celebration when numerous musicians come together to recognize some of the biggest hits in the music industry. But that’s not all.

The red carpet is one of the most talked about aspects of the Grammys. Celebrities showcase new, stylish, trendy outfits that fans rave about for days.

Here are a few red carpet looks that caught my eye at this year’s Grammy Awards.

Tyla

First on the list is Tyla’s iconic look. This is, without a doubt, one of the night’s best looks. The light green color was gorgeous and so flattering on her. The sequins and cut-outs made up a dynamic and eye-catching outfit. The simple yet elegant shoes tied the entire outfit together.

Lana Del Rey

Next up, we have Lana Del Rey’s adorable coquette look. Her dress looked gorgeous and trendy with all the accented bows. The elegant all-black outfit entirely embodied her aesthetic. The dress silhouette, gloves, and headband are perfect in this look, but the floral mesh pattern is not the most flattering and adds a lot to an already embellished outfit.

Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae’s look was a perfect take on the classic old Hollywood style. The neckline and centerpiece created an exciting dynamic and added an edginess to the outfit that suited her. The choker tied the whole look together and is a perfect, yet simple, addition to the outfit.

Ice Spice

Of course, we have much to unpack from Ice Spice’s iconic mix of Y2K streetwear and red carpet glam. The top perfectly expressed her personality and style while keeping it classy. Her accessories and shoes made the whole outfit pop, making this one of the most unique looks of the night.

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding’s all-black look was a statement piece of the night. The leaves and patterns used throughout the look would make anyone stop and stare. The sleeves were my favorite part, as they created a witchy feeling.

The fabrics and patterns were eye-catching, but this look could have been perfectly tied together with some simple jewelry that connected the bold eye look with the rest of her outfit.

Taylor Swift

Last but not least is Taylor Swift’s glamorous white and black outfit. The long black gloves, swooped-back hairstyle, and iconic red lip gave this look an old Hollywood vibe. I loved the silhouette of this dress, and it looked absolutely stunning on her.

That said, the contrast of the black gloves on the white dress is not my favorite and the overall look feels somewhat disconnected.

The Grammys red carpet is a night for iconic looks and pushing fashion boundaries. I hope you enjoyed my takes on the night’s most significant looks!

What was your favorite red carpet look of the night?
