When students of all BU colleges are filling up libraries and buying out all the caffeinated drinks in the vending machines, it’s clear that final exam prep is well underway. When it’s time for a study break, your hands may feel sore after finishing 50 notecards of equations, writing five pages of a 20-page paper, or typing up study guides. How do you relax and have fun? Emoji Games! After five hours of studying, the first thing you probably want to do is chat with friends and laugh off the misery of study period together, right?  Here’s where the real fun begins.

I am borrowing a game idea from Ellen DeGeneres, who played a game for Oscar-nominated movies with only emoticons, creating “emoji plots” (Let’s get “e-plots” trending!) Texting emoticons is the new texting. For this merry season, it is the perfect time to play e-plots for ABC Family’s “25 Days of Christmas” ! You can send your friends the plot lines of your favorite holiday movies and give them three chances to guess. *Tip: You can make each round more difficult by making the stories shorter and shorter.

Here are some examples of Christmas classics:

1. “Elf”

2. “How The Grinch Stole Christmas”

3. “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town”

4. “Polar Express”

Now you try “Love, Actually” !

Follow the full schedule for ABC Family’s holiday programming and get to building your emoji plots!
