Don’t Miss a Free Screening of “Girl Rising” Tonight!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

It might not be Women’s History Month anymore (it was March FYI), but that doesn’t mean that we should stop thinking about women’s issues (we should never stop thinking about women’s issues!). Luckily for BU students, there is an easy way to keep the conversation alive!

Tonight in CAS 211 at 7p.m., come to a screening of “Girl Rising,” a film about the impact of education can have on a girl’s life around the world. Narrated by names such as Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway, Salma Hayek, Alicia Keys, Liam Neeson, Meryl Streep and Kerry Washington (wow!) the film features nine girls from different countries, whose stories represent the millions of girls who want and deserve to go to school but can’t. You’re a lucky colliegette, so you know how important education is, now we need to make sure every girl has that chance!

“Girl Rising” recently previewed at Sundance and is brought by the 10×10 Campaign, a global campaign that works to educate an empower girls. Her Campus BU and BU Undergraduate Public Health Association have teamed up to present a screening of “Girl Rising”–see it on campus (they’ll be snacks!) before it premieres on CNN in June!
