As fall gets colder and turns into winter, not only do Pumpkin Spice Lattes become Peppermint Mochas, but the colors of fashion also change. This fall, we have adopted an array of maroons, mustards, grays, and army greens into our layering. And while those colors aren’t going away at any point soon, the following are the colors that will get us through the winter, at least, according to the Pantene Color Report.
1. Black
Black is a classic for the winter time, but the color is also an easy trap to fall into. Ever find yourself going between black leggings with a black sweater to a black dress with black tights every week? So, while this is the most obvious and effortless color trend to incorporate, it can’t be your only one.Â
2. Red
Red! We’re head over heels in love with wearing red. It makes us feel fun and flirty, even if it’s just a red t-shirt and jeans. It’s an awesome way to make a statement without taking a dramatic fashion risk. Plus, a little red dress is so hot.
3. Silver
Silver seems to poke its head out every holiday season, but it’s coming out early this year. With one of the fall colors this year being “stormy grey,” it’s only natural that to counteract the neutral, you bring out the sparkle. Whether through jewelry or a subtle glint in the pattern of the fabric, silver is a nice pop to a potential drab colored outfit.
4. Brown
Not quite sure how we feel about this color trend. It doesn’t seem to get worn beyond an occasional leather jacket and the corduroys from  back in the middle school days. However, in the late fall and into winter, brown is making an entrance. It’s worth a piece or two. However, if you tend to gravitate towards black, brown may not be a perfect complement to your wardrobe.
5. Bold Colors or Powdery Pastels
Color is here to stay. All in all, it doesn’t matter what color it is, just the fact that it’s present. This winter, you can work a palette of bold colors or powdery pastels depending on your mood. Yes, they are the two extremes of tonality, but they both make a lasting impact.
