Collegiette’s Guide to Creating 5-Minute Outfits

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Did you just roll out of bed 10 minutes before class? Are you tired of resorting to sweats as your go-to outfit? Does the idea of having to constantly put together outfits overwhelm you?

Don’t give up on life! Have no fear— here is a helpful guide to get you out of bed and into a stylish outfit… all in just five minutes!

1. Pick pants

Skip the sweatpants; grab your classic ripped jeans for a casual look or comfy patterned pants if you want to make a statement. It’s just as easy to put on your favorite pair of jeans as it is to pull on a pair of leggings.

2. Pick a shirt

When it comes to picking a shirt, choose something that is relaxed and stretchy so you can toss on a sweatshirt when you get back to your dorm.

3. Pick a top or jacket

Tops are great for layering, and layering is great for looking like you tried today.

4. Pick shoes

Shoes can make or break an outfit. Instead of taking the easy way out by wearing Uggs, pick a more sophisticated bootie. Instead of regular old sneakers, opt for Keds or trendy New Balances.

5. Pick an sccessory or two

Picking the right accessories can take your outfit to the next level. You can easily throw on a hat if you’re having a bad hair day. If you pair a watch with a few bracelets and a delicate ring, you get a preppy vibe. Or you could wear a scarf with a long necklace for a boho vibe. Make a statement with your statement necklace! Duh!

6. Grab your backpack and go!

By following these simple steps, you’ll have an adorable outfit and still have time to spare before class!
