The halfway point of the semester is upon us! Midterms are starting and you’re probably starting to get essays, exams, and quizzes back. If you start to realize you’re struggling in a class, don’t wait to get help! There are tons of services here at BU specifically for helping you stay on track. Don’t wait any longer to get help in a class! If you’ve gone to your professor and your TF and still feel like you need a little bit more, visit these places and get your grades back up where they belong!

The ERC

The Educational Resource Center offers advising, tutoring, and training to help you with whatever you need academically here at BU.  You can meet with an ERC advisor and they can help you set up a plan to get you on track for success. Located on the 5th and 6th floors of 100 Bay State Road, the ERC also offers peer tutoring in one-on-one and in small group settings. For more information, and to set up an appointment with an advisor or learn more about peer tutoring, check out the ERC website: http://www.bu.edu/erc/

For more specific help check out the additional tutoring for these subjects:

Writing Help

From help on organizing papers, developing an argument, or getting your ideas across, the ERC offers three types of writing assistance: Traditional 45min. appointments, ESL Writing skills appointments, and Drop-in appointments. For more information, check out the ERC’s Writing Help website:  http://www.bu.edu/erc/writingassistance/

Foreign Language Help

The Language Link at the ERC is a great resource for extra help in foreign language. If you’re looking to polish your speaking skills in a variety of languages, the Language Link has small group discussion sections to improve grammar, fluidity, and vocabulary use. For more information and to sign up for a group head to the ERC Language Link Website:

Economics Help

If you’ve gone to your TF office hours but still need some more help on homework, or just with understanding a concept, check out the ERC Principle’s Center. Located at 270 Bay State Road, the Principle’s Center is staffed from Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm by a grad student there to help.
