The Best Microwavable Meals for the Hungry College Student

In all honesty, the word “microwavable” doesn’t sound too fabulous to me. But for the poor and always busy college student, a frozen microwavable meal is sometimes (frequently) necessary. They’re cheap, usually pretty yummy, and made to be eaten in the comfort of your dorm/apartment while watching the latest episode of Girl Code. In no particular order, below is a list of my favorite microwavable meals for when you’re either on the go, too lazy to cook a real meal, or if you just down right like them.

 

Trader Joe’s Fettuccine Alfredo with Mushrooms

Trader Joe’s without a doubt has some of the best frozen meals and snacks ever. They’re cheap and most are pretty darn good. The Fettuccine Alfredo with Mushrooms is one of my favorites – it’s easily microwavable and really tastes like home-cooked Fettuccine Alfredo!

Lean Cuisine French Bread Cheese Pizza

These are my favorites! I love French bread pizzas and Lean Cuisine does a pretty awesome, relatively healthy take on one. The French bread cheese is my favorite but the French bread pepperoni pizza is also pretty good! 

Trader Joe’s Handcrafted Chicken Tamales

Again, I’m a little in love with Trader Joe’s but these chicken tamales are some of my favorites! They come in a serving of two and can be easily heated up in the microwave in a few minutes. They taste super authentic and are a great quick meal!

Stouffer’s Mac & Cheese

Most college students have tried a Stouffer’s meal at least once in his or her life. And for me, my favorite one is the Stouffer’s Mac & Cheese. Mac & Cheese is a simple meal normally, but the frozen Stouffer’s Mac & Cheese is almost too delicious to pass up! It’s easily microwavable and ready to eat in just minutes, and it’s honestly some of the best Mac & Cheese I’ve ever had.

Healthy Choice Top Chef Inspired Chicken Margherita with Balsamic

This angel pasta plus grilled chicken plus diced tomatoes and garlic quick meal is one of my favorites by Healthy Choice Top Chef. It’s the perfect portion size and has a little bit of everything – pasta, meat, veggies, and a delicious balsamic vinaigrette sauce.
