Being a Budget Baddie in Boston: Spring Break Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Let’s be honest: being a college student is hard. Surviving classes and homework can be stressful and a lot to handle. On top of academics, there are other factors that make the college experience harder, such as money and access to well-being resources. Thankfully, spring break is just around the corner, and we can all take advantage of the week-long break by taking a step back from our workload. Needless to say, if you are struggling and need help, please reach out! Here is a great resource guide from BU.

Out of all the stressful factors in our lives, I want to offer my advice on money and finance. For those staying in Boston for spring break, here are a few things to do on a budget! We are all trying our best to overcome the obstacles we encounter, which is why we are all baddies! Keep that in mind: you are doing so well! Don’t doubt yourself. Without further ado, read on to see what you can do as a baddie on a budget in Boston over break if you’re staying in the city.

Weyes Blood Concert

There is a really cheap concert that is happening in Boston over break: Weyes Blood is coming to Roadrunner and the ticket prices are as low as $12 on Vividseats. Look here to buy tickets! Even if you don’t know who Weyes Blood is, concerts are often a great experience regardless, and this can be your chance to discover some new music.

UsE your BPL Card for Museum Passes (OR your BU ID!)

Already, as a BU student, you can use your ID to go to museums for free! But, applying for a Boston Public Library card can add some more museum perks that BU may not have. Look here to see what the BPL offers for Museum Passes! Applying for a card is easy: all you have to do is show proof of your address in Boston and your government-issued ID. You get access to unlimited free Museum Passes, and you can check out unlimited sections of books and other resources they provide. Look here to see what they have to offer.

Food Discounts at Fire & Ice and Tasty Burger

Both of these restaurants provide food discounts for college students. Fire & Ice offers $10.99 for unlimited dinner on Monday nights. Their cuisines consist of Asian, Italian, and Latin food. Tasty Burger (at Harvard Square!) offers $10 combo meals that come with your choice of burger, fries, and drink. I haven’t checked out these restaurants yet, but I’m looking forward to trying them over break.

Regardless of your plans for spring break, I hope your week is both restful and fun-filled.
