8 Outfits That Will Make You Want a Suede Skirt

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

If you haven’t seen someone around campus wearing a suede skirt, you’ve probably been living in the basement of the library. Suede skirts are a huge hit in the fashion world and have quickly trickled down to high street style with more affordable options from stores like ASOS and Topshop. If you don’t already crave this fashion staple, these outfits will definitely change your mind (Or give you outfit inspo if you already own one of these beauties)!

1. Summer Suede

When paired with a boxy, lace crop top, the heavier material of the suede skirt is still light enough to wear during the warmer months.

2. Matching Sets

Matching separates have been a trend for a while now, but a set in all suede is the perfect update.

3. Scalloped Suede

Explore the more unique suede design options, like this one with the popular front buttons and interesting scalloped hem.

4. Preppy Suede

A statement necklace and riding boots add a good ole New England preppy flair to a suede skirt.

5. Edgy Suede

If preppy isn’t your thing, the popular brown suede still looks great with black. Add some black tights and a wide brimmed hat for a darker look.

6. Autumn Suede

Suede is the perfect material for fall. Play with other autumnal colors like chestnut, mustard, and deep reds (Also, check out this gorgeous patchwork skirt!).

7. Sweaters and Suede

Tucking a chunky sweater into a more structured suede skirt is a great way to play with silhouettes. Add sheer tights for chillier weather and some chunky heels for a 70s vibe.

8. Winter Suede

Have fun with layering to transition your suede skirt into winter. Layer different textures with the suede, like this furry vest. Tights and over-the-knee boots help keep your legs warm so you can still wear your favorite skirts in winter!
