8 Fall Activities to Do in Boston

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Fall in Boston can be one of the best seasons. Fall clothes are always cute, the weather is comfortable, the trees look awesome and there are tons of things to do. So, if you find yourself sitting in your dorm on a beautiful fall afternoon or weekend, get your friends and head out into Boston or even nearby and check out these activities! Make a list of things you want to accomplish before Thanksgiving Break, and have a blast doing fall activities in Boston!

Apple Picking

Need I say more? Classic activity for fall in Boston. Plus, apple orchards make the best backdrops for Instagrams.

Baking

With all those apples you pick, get your friends and get an easy apple pie recipe!

Pumpkin Picking

Another classic fall activity! This year, the pumpkins are huge and you can find them really cheap! Buy a bunch and decorate around your apartment or dorm. Even little pumpkins make great decorations for small rooms!

Pumpkin Decorating

Pick a perfect pumpkin, and grab one of those old-fashioned carving kits (we all know the ones) and get carving! Or if you’re into a less-messy situation, just decorate some pumpkins with paint and give them some faces or designs.

Eat and Drink Pumpkin Everything

If you haven’t already heard from every form of social media, pumpkin spice is back! Coffees and lattes at Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts even has pumpkin donuts, munchkins and muffins – Yum!

Admire Some Leaves

If you’ve been out and about near the esplanade or even the common, you’ve noticed the bright reds, yellows and oranges start to make their way into the trees! Spend the afternoon with your friends walking the common admiring the foliage or even take a quick trip up north to New Hampshire or Vermont where the foliage is so awesome, it brings tourists from all over!

Get to a Haunted House

Halloween will be here before we know it so if you’re into feeling terrified, get yourself and your friends to a haunted house ASAP! There are great haunted tours and cemetery walks that tour right around the city!

Get Prepped and Decorated for Halloween

Speaking of Halloween, it’s a Friday this year, which means awesome parties and decorations! You have plenty of time to get a great costume so start brainstorming! And all the Halloween party stores are opening up around Boston, so get a ton of decorations for your apartment or dorm and bring all your friends over to admire them!
