There’s nothing better than a sweet coffee to help you lock in for finals.

As finals season settles over Boston and the temperatures drop, the city’s cafés roll out their best winter drinks; the kind that soothes your stress, warms your hands, and makes even the longest study day feel a little more magical.

A COOKIE IN A MUG

Starbucks’ sugar cookie latte is a remnant of Grandma’s fresh-baked cookies on Christmas morning. It’s the perfect mixture of vanilla and nostalgia, decorated with red and green sugar; just the thing to get you through finals and to get you excited for the holidays.

THE BLIZZARD-PROOF BLONDIE LATTE

Blank Street’s iced blondie latte is for the true New Englander who refuses to let a frigid winter stop them from enjoying an iced coffee. A truly sweet-and-salty concoction made with salted brown sugar caramel, cookie butter, and a hint of miso, it tastes like the frozen version of a warm blondie. This drink brings just enough sweetness to boost your mood before you settle into Mugar or StuVi II, making it the ultimate sweet-and-salty study sidekick.

WINTER SPICE, ICED COFFEE LIFE

Blue Bottle’s Iced Ginger Biscuit NOLA is basically a crunchy ginger cookie dipped in warm milk. Their chicory-infused cold brew gets a cozy seasonal twist with warming ginger, soft vanilla, and a tiny snap of black pepper. Smooth, nostalgic, and just spicy enough to wake up your brain cells, it’s the perfect pick-me-up before trekking to your next lecture or settling in for a long study session.

EGGNOG ESCAPE

Cafe Nero’s eggnog latte is for when you would rather be in a cozy window seat in a snowy cabin watching Elf with friends and family instead of a Mugar study cubicle. Made with espresso, steamed milk, rich eggnog, whipped cream, and a dusting of cinnamon, it’s basically a Hallmark movie in a mug; the perfect reminder of the break to come and motivation to finish the semester.

A PARISIAN DAYDREAM

L.A. Burdick Handmade Chocolates is for the girlies who would rather be in Paris drinking the famous hot chocolate than cramming for finals in Boston. A mug with thick, decadent chocolate will warm you up before you brace the Boston cold. It’s the perfect escape from the harsh reality that the next few hours will be spent toiling away on a paper or studying for that dreaded final.

With the right winter drink in hand, you can take on the assignment, ace the test, and brave the freezing weather like a pro.
