5 Thanksgiving Desserts To Try From Local Businesses

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

This Thanksgiving, like the rest of 2020, will be different from celebrations in the past. So, why not change up your Thanksgiving dessert spread to match? This list is chock-full of ideas and options that’ll satisfy even the pickiest turkey eater. Support small businesses while making this Thanksgiving one filled with new traditions!

Blackbird Doughnuts – Thanksgiving Pie

Blackbird Doughnuts consistently drops innovative donut products, and Thanksgiving is no exception! I’m a huge fan of their Doughnut Cake and my (very particular) family loves it too. This apple cider donut Thanksgiving Pie will definitely be making an appearance at our holiday celebration. Even better, their Fenway location is within walking distance from BU’s Charles River campus!

Posh Pop Bakeshop – Thanksgiving Menu

This gluten-free bakery in NYC ships nationwide. Pick up a four-pack of their gooey Pecan Pie Bars and creamy Pumpkin Snickerdoodle Cheesecake Bars. Grab some Caramel Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls while you’re at it because a) you deserve it and b) you’re placing the order anyways and it would be a shame to miss out.

The Queen’s Cups – Maple Bacon Sweet Potato Biscuits

This from-scratch bakery in Worcester has some of the best pastries around! This Thanksgiving, swap out your typical rolls for these to-die-for biscuits. It’ll be the perfect combination of sweet and savory for a little pre-dessert treat.

Pressed Juicery – Pumpkin Freeze

You can get this dreamy concoction on any occasion, but I’d love a bit of vegan soft-serve action this Thanksgiving. Add almond butter drizzle on top and you’re good to go! It’s basically pumpkin pie in ice cream form. Does it get any better than that?

Mother Juice – Carrot Cake Overnight Oats

This vegan treat is perfect for a pre-Thanksgiving snack! Mother Juice has a location on Newbury Street where you can pick up this heavenly carrot cake goodness. My favorite part is the homemade “cream cheese” frosting dollop on top.

I hope you pick up these local Thanksgiving dessert alternatives. Your taste buds won’t regret it!
