With the crisp and cool breeze of fall comes a feeling of excitement and eagerness to get together and do something fun with friends! Even the simplest of plans can become something special and serve as an opportunity to put on cute outfits and take photos.
Whether you’re looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon or a way to upgrade your Instagram feed, here are five activities to add to your fall bucket list!
- Go Apple Picking and Bake
-
Apple picking is one of the quintessential fall activities, and for good reason. Spend an afternoon strolling through an orchard and trying to grab as many apples as your arms or buckets can carry! Apple orchards offer a cute spot to take photos and sample some delicious sweet treats. And don’t let the fun stop there. Spend the night at home baking with your girls — apple pies or crisps are great options!
- Have A Cozy Fall Movie Night
-
Sometimes the best plans involve staying home instead of going out. Make a list of your favorite fall movies and invite your friends over for a chill night in. You can even make your hangout extra cozy with fluffy blankets, socks, and sweaters. And don’t forget the snacks! You can provide your own, but feel free to let your guests know they can bring whatever they want.
- Visit A Pumpkin Patch
-
Nothing says fall like a pumpkin patch! Spend an afternoon picking out pumpkins to carve and decorate, and take photos with all the cute fall decorations. If you’re looking for one in Boston, be sure to check out the Cityside Pumpkin Patch in Seaport, which also has a tasty selection of drinks and snacks, including an oyster bar. When you get home, you can pit your group’s pumpkins against one another in a competition with categories like cutest or scariest pumpkin.
- Plan A Fall Picnic
-
Don’t let the picnic fun end in summer! Grab your favorite blanket, some snacks, and head to your favorite green space to admire the fall foliage. I recommend Boston Public Garden! Bring sandwiches, pastries, apple cider, or any of your favorite fall treats. Trader Joe’s has a really good selection, including its sheet cakes, which are a personal favorite of mine! You and your friends can play games, listen to music, or simply just chat and enjoy the view. It’s a simple, low-cost, and low-effort way to spend time with others.
- Go Thrifting For Fall Outfits
-
Fall fashion is arguably one of the most fun parts of the season and is even more fun with
friends! Grab your pals and head to the local thrift store to check out the coziest fall finds. See who can put together the best outfits so you can have fun even if you don’t want to spend money on tons of clothes. Some of my favorite pieces to shop for are oversized sweaters, trench coats, slouchy boots, and colorful scarves. The Goodwill on Comm. Ave has some great finds. Maybe even grab a coffee on the way home and take turns giving each other hauls!
You don’t need the most elaborate or expensive plans to make this fall one to remember! Sometimes the best moments come from the simplest of ideas. Pick your favorites from this list and get your friends together for a fun time.
Here’s to making the most of fall!
