This summer, I was the Communications and Development Intern for The Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, a community of Catholic sisters located ten minutes from my home. I wrote articles for their website, helped design a new website, and developed a promotion plan for the sisters’ annual fall festival. While I was raised Catholic, I’ve never considered myself a very religious person—working with the sisters and their staff showed me the power that faith can have in making a positive impact on our communities. I also spent quality time with my family and walked a lot of dogs, so all-in-all it was a great summer.
