Decorations to Get You in the Holiday Spirit

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryn Mawr chapter.

The holiday season is definitely my favorite time of year; the chilly weather, catchy music and being able to spend time with my friends and family make it a great few months. However, one of the main reasons the holiday season is my favorite is because of all the amazing decorations you can find! Here are some ways you can decorate your living space to fully partake in the magic of the holidays.

String Lights

These are the quintessential lights of the holiday season; seeing them always lifts my spirit. There are so many variations of color, brilliance and movement, but these multicolored fairy lights from Target are a safe bet.

Hanging Snowflakes

What better way to embrace the cold than to hang snowflakes up all around your house? You can buy some (via Target here or here), or you can make paper ones with the little ones in your life!

Garlands

Although garlands are usually placed around the Christmas tree, you could also hang it from the ceiling, drape it across tables or wrap it around the fireplace mantle. This garland from Target is a good option.

Light-Up Statues

These are an adorable way to fully embrace the holiday spirit. This Tinsel Narwhal will be immediately recognizable to anyone who’s a fan of Elf, and there are also pugs, unicorns and rhinos you can purchase from Target. Other retailers also have a plethora of these statues and air-inflatables too!

Throw Pillows and Blankets

Having these in your decoration arsenal ensures that you’ll have the coziest holiday season possible. There are tons of designs and colors for both the pillows and the blankets; these are just a few adorable ideas: here, here and here.

There are so many reasons why the holiday season is the best time of the year. One of them has to do with all the decorations to get really into the spirit. Happy holidays!
