I don’t actually have a favorite season overall; there’s something I can appreciate about almost every time of year. But I do have a favorite season when it comes to fashion, accessories and makeup: fall. And it’s finally here! Here are just 10 reasons why I think fall fashion is the best:

1. Scarves! Especially later in the season, I love to break out my favorite scarves as a simple way to elevate nearly any look.
2. I can finally break out my cute sweaters. For months, I’ve left them to sit sad and unloved in my closet, but I am so excited to start wearing them again. Honestly, this might be one of the most universally loved aspects of fall fashion – there’s a sweater out there for everyone.
3. This isn’t a specific item, but… dark colors! A big factor in my love for fall is that it’s suddenly socially acceptable for me to embrace my inner darkness.
4. Everyone looks good in a nice leather jacket. Need I say more?
5. Most of my favorite shoes are boots or booties. Now that the temperature is starting to cool down, I can actually wear them. That makes me very happy.
6. Velvet. Just, velvet.
7. While embroidery has been making a comeback just as a general trend, I especially love the way it looks on denim or leather jackets and high-waisted jeans.
8. And finally, let me express my love for fall makeup: dark, berry-toned lipstick and earthy-toned eyeshadow looks. Yes, please.
