*Her Campus Bryant understands that not all Bryant students take part in sexual activity.
Both men and women make excuses each and every day, for nearly everything. For forgetfulness, laziness, tardiness; the list goes on and on. But what about for sex? Yes I said it, we even make excuses for sex. Girls’ and guys’ interests are not always the same, not everything feels the same for us during sex, and our schedules do not always coincide. Not to mention, we’re not always in the mood. And by “we” I mean us girls.
You know what I’m taking about… those days when you just feel too tired, too stressed or WHATEVER it may be that makes you just “not into it.” Whether this unfortunate situation comes up with your boyfriend or a weekend hook-up gone wrong, we’ve collected Bryant women’s top 10 excuses for getting out of sex:
1. I have my period.
2. I have to be up really early.
3. zZZzzzz “fake snore”
4. I’m bloated.
5. There are too many people in the suite.
6. My roommate will be back any second.
7. I haven’t showered yet.
8. I haven’t shaved.
9. I don’t feel good.
10. I’m too drunk.
Guys: Keep in mind that sometimes when girls say these things we are being serious (not using them as an excuse to get out of sex). Also, these excuses don’t mean girls like sex any less than guys do! That is a total and complete myth. But that’s another article… ;)
Now, we understand girls are not the only ones who make excuses regarding sex. Bryant guys (and let’s face it, guys in general) are notorious for their clever “condom excuses.” Below are the top ten (well, eleven because we just couldn’t get rid of any) condom excuses Bryant women hear:
1. None of them fit me.
2. I just ran out this morning.
3. Aren’t you on the pill?
4. It doesn’t feel good.
5. I’ll pull out.
6. They break anyways.
7. I’m pro-choice.
8. I’m clean I swear!
9. But, I love you.
10. I’m allergic to latex.
11. Don’t you trust me?
Girls: Guys aren’t perfect either! Be patient when they try to make excuses, but be firm about your safety too. While it is true that sex does feel better without a condom, the benefits of safe sex (for both you and your partner) far outweigh any short-term gratification.
