It seems like every person on this campus is sick right now, and it’s probably true. In class all we hear these days is the sniffling and coughing of our classmates. You tried to avoid getting sick, you did everything you could not to (aka chugging Emergen-C), but the inevitable happened and you got sick anyways. Here’s what it’s like:
1. You might feel a little sniffly but there’s no way you’re accepting defeat yet. You definitely aren’t sick. If you deny it it’ll go away, right?
2. So you wake up the next day and your throat hurts like you just swallowed a razor blade.
3. Your cold goes from bad to worse within hours and now along with feeling like you’re swallowing razor blades you have a runny nose, a cough, and a headache.
4. You know for the sake of your health you probably shouldn’t go out this weekend even though you really do want to so you spend the night in your bed.
5. Even though you’re supposed to be an independent college student now there’s nothing you want more right now than the care of your mom while you’re sick.
6. You debate if you should make the effort to go to the health center, but it’s a far walk and you’re just too tired.
7. Your friends might start to avoid you because they don’t want to get sick.
8. You’ve been sick for what seems like forever… maybe it’s not just a cold… so you search WebMD and decide you’re basically dying and have a serious disease.
9. A day or two later you wake up and you can finally breathe out of your nose again, everything is better!
