More Lives Claimed by Washington Mudslide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

Many of us have heard about the tragic mudslide that tore through Snohomish County in Washington State on March 22nd. The slide destroyed about 50 homes, and left a wall of debris 1.5 miles long and 15-20 feet deep. Though the mudslide was well over a week ago, the total number of victims is still unknown. The death toll continues to rise, reaching a total of 28 yesterday. The medical examiner’s office says that 22 of these victims have been identified. There are now 20 people on the official missing list. Floodwaters have been receding, which should make the search for the deceased easier. We here at Her Campus send our thoughts and prayers out to the victims of this disaster and their families.
