With Spring Break coming up, we’re all trying to plan a super amazing trip that will make all of our friends at home jealous, but how can we do that without breaking the bank? Surprisingly, there’s a bunch of trip planning tricks and tips that can help you get the most out of you money!

When it comes to getting and staying there, whether it’s by plane, train, or automobile, there are a BUNCH of ways to save some dough. If you’re booking a flight to a faraway destination, try to book it as a package deal with your hotel. Websites such as Expedia, Hotels.com, Kayak and Orbitz are perfect for group trips. Not only are there discounts if you book a large party, but they also compare a bunch of different hotel and flight packages for you so you can get the cheapest deal. Another way to save on a plane is to fly out on a Monday or Tuesday instead of a Saturday of Sunday because flights are cheaper. If you’re going by car, a great tip is to try to plan your fuel ups in states where the gas prices are relatively low, like New Jersey. That way you can save some cash and switch up the drivers all in one place!

When it comes to eating and drinking in your dream destination there are a few tips that can help you try to pinch some pennies too! Depending on your hotel, there are sometimes small kitchenettes as a part of your room. If this is the case it’s a good idea to buy some food on the drive down or in a local store. That way you can make your own meals in the room and save a little money for fun tourist things like clothes, souvenirs for your girls, and of course cool tropical drinks! Another quick tip is to try to find a hotel with complementary breakfasts or snacks, which saves you from spending money on a meal every morning!

Wherever you do end up going for spring break, it’s most likely going to be expensive. The most important thing is to budget as best as you can and have fun! Spring Break is, after all, about having a good time with your friends so just remember to budget, be responsible and HAVE FUN!
