Meet the New President of Alpha Omicron Pi

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

To start off the spring semester, Her Campus Bryant wanted to give our readers a brief introduction to Greek life on campus.

We decided to talk with the eight new Greek life presidents to learn more about their involvement on campus and what’s next for their chapter.

Here is our interview with the president the sorority Alpha Omicron Pi, Sarah DeSantis.

HC: Why did you decide to go Greek?

SD: I wanted to be a part of something bigger. Being surrounded by a group of strong, ambitious, and driven women is so empowering to push yourself to be the best version of you! I wanted to be a part of an organization that would instill such inspiration and confidence in my college career.

HC: Why did you decide to run for president?

SD: I have always wanted to give back to the organization that has given me so much. AOII and the Panhellenic women around me have shaped me into being the girl boss I have always dreamed of. I wish to inspire that same passion for change and confidence in all the other amazing AOII women around me.

HC: What is your favorite thing about your sorority?

SD: I love how loving, down to earth, and ambitious all of the women are in AOII. We always manage to have fun together with nonstop laughs and truly sisterhood moments that you will cherish forever. There is such a strong support system where each woman pushes each other to be a girl boss!

HC: What is your favorite memory from being a part of your sorority?

SD: Big/Little reveal was my favorite memory and getting my little, Savannah. She has been one of the best things to happen to me, as she pushes me to be a great role model for her. We are so close and have so many laughs together. Our constant Yamato and Barre dates are memories I cherish!

HC: What is one thing you are excited about that’s happening in your organization this semester?

SD: I am super excited to see our new philanthropic initiatives we are implementing this year! We are trying out some new events to revamp our efforts in helping our community. Our annual Spaghetti for Scleroderma will be changing into an amazing gala night that you won’t want to miss!
