Makeup Monday: Tricks to Make Your Eyes Look Bigger!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

Remember when black liner all around the rims of your eyes used to be the thing to do? Well now it is the opposite. Now it’s all about big and bright eyes! This trend will never go out of style because you are just enhancing the pretty eyes you already have. Here are a few easy tricks to eye catching eyes!

Nude or White Eyeliner:

You can still define your eyes but instead of the typical black eyeliner, try a peach/nude or white eyeliner for the bottom rim of your eyes! This will create the illusion that your eyes are bigger than they are. You can find great liners that stay all day from Milani to Urban Decay.

Highlight the Inner Corners:

A great way to open up your eyes! It makes your eyes look more of the same size and more even. That’s why you typically use a dark shadow in the outer corner and a lighter shadow in the inner. You can use any color from whites to champagnes to matte or shimmery shadows.

Big Dark Eyelashes:

Mascara is essential for trying to get the big eye look. Not only does it open up your eyes, but it also gives a good contrast from all those light shades you are adding to your eyes.  Don’t forget the bottom lashes! Some must tries are the Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara, Maybelline Rocket Lash, and Covergirl Flamed Up Mascara.

Winged Eyeliner:

Winged Eyeliner does wonders for your eyes! It elongates your eyes, and if you have droopy eyes, it helps lift them up. Adding eyeliner helps make your lashes look thicker and makes a big difference when trying to make your eyes appear bigger. There are different kinds of wings you can do depending on your preference. You can use gel eye liner or liquid to achieve these looks.
