This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

Grey’s Anatomy is one of our favorite shows for many reasons, including interesting storylines, lovable characters, and hot guys (cue McDreamy and McSteamy). But let’s not forget about the important life lessons Grey’s Anatomy has also taught us!

1. Never be afraid to tell people how you feel. If you love them, let them know! Hopefully BEFORE their character is written off in a tragic plan crash

2. Dating at work isn’t as bad as it may seem

3. Be wary of ferries, cargo planes, and exploding buses

4. Life is going to be really hard at times…

5. …But it will always get better

6. It’s normal to be unhappy sometimes

7. It’s OK to do what’s right for you- even if that means putting yourself  before others

8. True love exists if you are willing to stand up and fight for it

9. Shonda Rhimes will kill everyone you love

10. You’re a work in progress. Keep working towards being the person you want to be, even if you get a little lost along the way

11. When life gets you down, there’s always the on call room
