How to Master the Walk of Shame

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

There is nothing worse than taking the walk of shame. It can be so uncomfortable walking in front of people in last night’s clothes (especially if you were wearing heels), even if it’s just from your boyfriend’s room back to your own. So here are some helpful hints on how to master the walk of shame:

1.      Steal his sweatshirt (or letters)

It still screams walk of shame, but hey, you just got a sweatshirt out of it. If your outfit was a little scandalous last night then you can easily cover it up with a nice big sweatshirt. If he is in a fraternity make sure to grab a pair of colors- those are always fun to have. The walk of shame is always more noticeable for the ladies so it is nice to grab a sweatshirt for the road.

2.     Try not to wear heels

Nothing screams walk of shame more than a pair of heels the next morning. If there is a chance you can change your heels that night into flip flops or flats that would make the walk of shame much less noticeable. If you’re lucky, you will have an amazing friend to come and bring you flip flops the next morning before you take that walk.

3.     Make sure you can throw your hair in a pony tail

If you’re lucky, your hair will be straight and falling exactly where it should.  But let’s be real, it’s probably a crazy mess. A simple pony tail will fix the crazy hair do. If you looked really nice and curled your hair then this pony tail will be your savior. Throw your hair up or braid it, just got to calm the beast on top of your head.

4.     Keep a smile on your face

Even though you are taking the walk of shame don’t let anyone put you down. If you had fun then good for you! Never let anyone keep you down.

We hope this helps collegiettes! And good luck this weekend!
