Fashion Friday: Top 10 Spring Break Accessories

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

With spring break approaching, many of you lucky collegiettes are heading off to the perfect getaway somewhere warm and sunny. But before you pack your bags, make sure you include some of our must-haves for break!

  1. Sunglasses – an obvious must have for any warm getaway! Keeping the sun out of your eyes will let you enjoy the scenery and the sights without straining your eyes. Besides, squinting causes wrinkles.
  2. Hair ties – keep your hair out of your face while you’re exploring, swimming, or just laying on the beach. Not only will it help protect your hair from damaging sun’s rays, but you’ll have fewer tangles and keeping your hair up will help keep you cool.
  3. Sunblock – a girl’s best friend every day of the year, but even more important in a warmer climate where the sun is hot, hot, hot. Use at least an SPF 30 for guaranteed protection, and make sure to reapply every few hours. Sunburns are a definite no.
  4. Multi-purpose stain – when you’re trying to pack light, having fewer makeup items possible is an easy way to cut down. A multi-purpose stain for lips and cheeks does double duty and is less likely to be sweat off. Pair with some waterproof mascara and you have an easy, light makeup look for anywhere vacation may take you. I swear by Stila’s “Crush” lip and cheek stain, ($24, stilacosmetics.com, in 8 colors)
  5. Bright polish – when you’re parading around barefoot most of the day, your fingers and toes deserve some love! Ditch the dark colors and say hello to spring with something cheery and bright.
  6. Sandals – obviously. Relish in the warm weather with a comfortable pair of sandals that can easily be dressed up or down and worn with a bunch of different outfits. Added bonus: if they’re waterproof, you can even wear them to the beach.
  7. Tote bag – stash all your essentials in a big tote bag that can double as a purse. If you’re taking a plane, you can use it as your carry-on, and when you get to your destination it’s the perfect size for a water bottle and all the essentials for a day of exploring. Plus, you won’t have to worry about getting your nice handbags dirty and sandy.
  8. Statement necklace – perfect for dressing up even the simplest sundress or t-shirt/shorts combo, all you need is a chunky statement necklace for when you need to get fancy. When the overall trend of a vacation is low-key, laidback looks, a little goes a long way!
  9. Floppy hat – protect your face and eyes from the bright, damaging sun with a trendy, funky hat. Not only will you look good, but you’re doing good for your skin.

    10. A nice drink!! Because vacation wouldn’t be vacation without a fruity, delicious cocktail. Just be responsible!

Pack up these essentials along with your bombshell bathing suit and some flowy sundresses, and you’re ready to go! Enjoy time spent with your family, break some boys’ hearts, make new memories with your best friends, indulge in some “me time”… no matter what you do over break, do it with style! Have a fun, safe, fantastic spring break!
