Day of Games: Special Olympics RI Hosts 33rd Year at Bryant

Day of Games is the one of the largest events at Bryant with more than 600 athletes and 500 volunteers. Competitions include – relay races, softball throws, sprint and distance races, and shotput.  This will be the 33rd consecutive year that the Day of Games has been held at Bryant!  This event is put on by The Special Olympics Rhode Island organization which is actually located right down the street from Bryant!  This organization provides 1,600 year-round sports training and athetlic competitions for more than 2,800 athletes and hosting over 40 local, regional, and statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 25 official and demonstration sports.  This programs put on are focused on giving those with and without itellectual disabilities the ability to compete in Olympic-style games, empower them to move forward, and encourage them that they can do this.
