Nowadays accessories in general and jewelry in particular have become a crucial part of declaring your fashion style at school. But, just like in case of… well, anything, having too many choices can lead to confusion.

Don’t worry, girls… As you know how to choose and use jewelry wisely, you stand a golden chance to stand out and show off your style as well as your unique personality.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. Understand your skintone

If you’ve ever gone shopping for choosing your own perfect foundation, you may have run into the term undertone. A lot of beauty tutorials may also tell you which makeup looks better on warm versus cool tones. Now, trying on jewelry to see what makes your skin glow – if silver is your go-to, you likely have a cool undertone, and if gold looks best, you probably have a warm undertone.

2. Understanding the purpose

Make sure that your jewelry is appropriate for the occasion or event you’ll be attending. A sexy oversized curb-chain collar necklace might be perfect for a night on the town but might not be fitting for the class presentation.

3. Knowing how much money you want to spend

You might dream of a Michael Kors Python-Embossed Golden Bangle which costs $165.00 but do you actually need to spend that much? There are still many clean and classy jewelry options that are available these days. Or you can even make your own jewelry…Are you ready for DIY jewelry? 4. Mixing and Matching

Be comfortable combining a bunch of different textures, materials and colors. Use both thin and thick sizes of gold or silver bracelets. Also, add leather wraps and watches to create your own unique look!

5. Spiritual Value

Many people wear symbolic and spiritual jewelry to gain better insight, health or even get rid of evils or fears. The cross, for example, signifies the Christian belief in Jesus. Some specific kinds of jewelry materials like amber, silver or gemstone also attract positive energy while eliminating negative energy from your soul and body. These pieces are simple and help show who you are without having to say anything.
