8 Tips for Living out of Your Car

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

Whether you commute or just prefer to keep everything you own in your vehicle, we have some helpful tips for you mobile hoarders.

1.  Keep a plastic bag somewhere for trash.

It’s ridiculously hard to not litter your car with trash when you’re using it all the time, but keeping it all in one place makes the whole “cleaning” thing a lot less painless when you do it.

2.  Keep an extra outfit (or 7) in a bag.

You never know where your night is going to take you, so be prepared for anything.

3.  Keep a pair of sunglasses somewhere.

The sun is unpredictable and let’s be honest, you definitely forgot yours and you’re not about to walk all the way back to get them.

4.  Keep a blanket in your trunk.

This one is important for when it’s winter and you have no time for your piece of s%*t car to warm up.

5.  Stock your car with water bottles (and other snacks).

Why not, right? Girl’s gotta eat.

6.  Buy a ridiculous amount of car chargers.

In case you need directions, or you want to play a fire jam but you’re on 2%.

7.  Always have an aux cord. And one on deck in case the unthinkable happens.

What’s the other option? The radio? This is 2016, people.

8.  Two words: Air. Fresheners.

When you live out of your car, you’re going to want it to smell like you don’t live out of your car.
